Back in 2023 I decided to write a screenplay of “Anansi” in order to submit it to a film program. The pitch wasn’t successful, and I then decided to post the screenplay on Black List.
I paid for 4 reviews and used the feedback to guide a rewrite of the screenplay. The main parts of the rewrite apply to the middle and the climax of the story. I believe that the new screenplay is stronger but there is still the issue of getting it in front of people. It’s even tougher than trying to get an agent.
I think I may submit the new screenplay for reviews once I land a full-time gig and see if the rating gets improved. The screenplay’s rating sits around 5.5. at the moment, and the screenplays that are lucky enough to get any attention on the site have to be 8+.
If the screenplay’s rating improves I’ll know I’m on the right track.
